PadSplit created a first-of-its-kind marketplace platform for real estate investors to attract low-income workers to their co-living properties, creating affordable housing where there was otherwise none.
But, because of the original nature of the idea, we had to explain it, and how it works, to both targets - those seeking affordable housing and real estate investors seeking a winning strategy at a time where there was otherwise none. Because the site has no CMS, we created free-standing, independently-hosted educational videos.
Working with a visual designer, video production designer, and voice talent, I determined the video subject matter and order and wrote, edited, and co-directed the video and voiceover recordings we created to easily tell the story of the PadSplit marketplace to tenants and property owners.
Due to local, regional, and national laws and regulations, we had to come up with some new terms to describe old ideas: like “members” instead of “tenants.” Therefore, our educational videos briefly illustrated to our potential renting audience how it worked, and what some of those terms meant.
Along with the video content, I was also responsible for all of the member and host social content, as well as host testimonials, conducting dozens of interviews and creating related sales materials and videos used to attract other hosts and share their stories.
