It all starts with team. Nothing thrills me more, professionally, than assembling a team and helping them reach their full potential. My teams are given goals and are then empowered to use their talents to achieve them however they think best. STRATEGIC PLANNING
Strategic planning is important, but often underrated. Great strategic planning includes the following: cross-functional involvement, long-term thinking, accountability, deadlines, frequent progress check-ins, discipline, and communication to the entire company. I like the American Management Association’s methodology to build your roadmap.
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
You don’t need a brand. You already have one. But you may not have the one you need. My approach to brand gets to the emotional heart of the problem you’re solving for your customers. If you’re brand is not where you want it, I’ll help you come up with a credible roadmap to where you want to be in the minds of your customers.
CREATIVE EXECUTION
Cool ideas come and go. But great creative works because it communicates the soul of the brand with a voice, visual, and heart. The creative work I’ve done with my teams has won industry creative and innovation awards because it is both clever AND relevant. It shares a memorable approach to the concept while speaking to the core of the brand. If done well, great creative thoughtfully serves the brand.
RESEARCH ANALYSIS
Most researchers know how to give you statistically significant results. But that’s often where it ends. My strength has always been to see the story in the numbers. Through my analysis, I can see the brand, the audience, the channels, the winning tests, and where the funnel breaks. My research analysis turns observations into actions.
DIGITAL MARKETING
Digital marketing and I grew up together. Lived in the same duplex. As the tools and channels developed, so did my career and skillset. I’ve seen the history of tools like email and social media, and have the perspective and context necessary to know which channels are most appropriate for the problems I’m solving, allowing me to work cost-effectively and efficiently.
CONTENT STRATEGY
Great content strategy includes a messaging matrix with guidelines for multiple targets, a forward-looking content calendar, practical pieces that provide essential product details, emotional pieces that resonate with prospects, and, most importantly, great storytelling.
