Building a relationship is like building a 1000 piece puzzle in the dark.
Without any light, you could grab two pieces and try to feel if they fit together, but you can’t immediately just see it.
You know that each piece has at least one other piece that fits it perfectly. Some have two others. And there are many that have up to four other pieces that fit it just right, with another four pieces that fit well and compliment it very nicely.
Sometimes, you’ll get lucky and just happen to find two pieces that were meant to fit together. If you grab a puzzle that has been built before, it’s very often the case that when the puzzle was put back in the box, it wasn’t completely disassembled, and it may be easier to find the match.
But most of the time, you’ll be seeking a long time, and only patience (and a lot of feeling around) will help you find the right matches over time.
